Dhikr/Remembrance Of Allāh Prepares You For Jannah [Paradise] إن شاء الله

✒️Shaykh 'Abdur-Razzāq Al-Badr حفظه لله said:

"And from the benefits of [dhikrullāh] remembering Allāh: It is the plantings of Paradise. Paradise, as stated in a hadith, its plantings is the remembrance of Allāh [dhikrullāh]. Imām At-Tirmidhi narrated that the Prophet [Muhammad] ﷺ said:

(Whoever says:

سبحان الله العظيم وبحمده

'Glory be to Allāh Al-'Adheem and praise be to Him' a palm tree will be planted for him in [Jannah] Paradise.' At-Tirmidhi said: the hadith is a good authentic hadith"

قال شيخ عبد الرزاق البدر حفظه الله:

"ومن فوائد الذكر : انه غراس الجنة، فالجنة كما جاء في الحدية قيعان، وهي طيبة التربة، عدبة الماء، وغراسها ذكر الله، وروى الترمذي من حديث أبي الزبير، عن جابر رضي الله عنه عن النبي ﷺ فال : (من قال سبحان الله [العظيم] وبحمده، غرست له نخلة في الجنة) قال الترمذي : حديث حسن صحيح."

Can We Make Do'a To Allah After The Salāh [Prayers]? Is it Bid'ah? ~ Imām Ibn Bāz رحمه الله & Some Ahadith:

بسم الله اللهم صل على محمد

هل الدعاء مفردًا بعد الصلاة المكتوبة بدعة، أم المقصود بالبدعة هو الدعاء بشكل جماعي في المسجد؟

"Is supplication [do'a] alone after the prescribed prayer an innovation [bid'ah], or is what is meant by innovation [bid'ah] by making do'a as a group in the masjid?
الجواب:

الدعاء في دبر الصلاة مشروع وليس به بأس، والأفضل أن يكون قبل السلام بعدما يصلي على النبي ﷺ وبعدما يتعوذ بالله من عذاب جهنم، ومن عذاب القبر، ومن فتنة المحيا والممات، ومن فتنة المسيح الدجال يتعوذ بما شاء، يقول: اللهم أجرني من كذا، أجرني من شر نفسي، اللهم أعذني من شر نفسي، اللهم أعذني من الشيطان، اللهم اغفر لي ولوالدي، يدعو بما يسر الله له، وإذا كان الدعاء مشروعًا واردًا كان أفضل مثل: اللهم اغفر لي ما قدمت، وما أخرت، وما أسررت، وما أعلنت وما أنت أعلم به مني، أنت المقدم وأنت المؤخر لا إله إلا أنت اللهم أعني على ذكرك وشكرك وحسن عبادتك اللهم إني أعوذ بك من البخل، وأعوذ بك من الجبن، وأعوذ بك أن أرد إلى أرذل العمر وأعوذ بك من فتنة الدنيا وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر كل هذا وارد عن النبي ﷺ.

'Allamah Imam Ibn Baz رحمه الله answered:

"Supplication [do'a] after the prayer is legislated [mashru'] and there is no harm in it, but it is better for it to be before the greeting [taslim], after he sent salah upon the Prophet ﷺ [salawat], and after he seeks refuge in Allah from the torment of Hell, from the torment of the grave, from the temptation of life and death, and from the temptation of the Dajjal.

He seeks refuge in whatever he wants, saying: O Allah, protect me from such and such. Save me from the evil of myself, O Allah, protect me from the evil of myself, O Allah, protect me from Shaitan, O Allah forgive me and my parents.

He supplicates for what Allah has made easy for him, and if the supplication [do'a] is legislated [taught by the prophet Muhammad ﷺ] and accepted, it is better, such as: O Allah, forgive me for what I have put forward, and what I have delayed, and what I have concealed, and what I have announced. And what You know better than me, You are the one who advances and You are the one who is the latter. There is no deity worthy of worship except You. Oh Allah, help me to remember You, thank You, and worship You well. Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from being returned to the most miserable age, and I seek refuge in You from the temptation of this world, and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave.

All of this is reported from the Prophet ﷺ, peace and blessings be upon him."

Ahadith Proving Making Du'a After Salah Is Legislated And Sunnah:

عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الدُّعَاءِ أَسْمَعُ قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَوْفَ اللَّيْلِ الْآخِرِ وَدُبُرَ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْمَكْتُوبَاتِ

Abu Umamah reported: It was said,

"Oh Messenger of Allah, which supplication [do'a] will be heard best?"

The Prophet ﷺ,

"One in the last part of the night and at the end of the prescribed prayers [salah]."

[Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3499 | Sahih Lighayrihi Al-Albani]

عَنْ مَوْلًى، لأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ حِينَ يُسَلِّمُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً ‏"‏

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the Subuh (morning prayer), while he said the Salam, he would say:

‘Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘ilman nafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds)."

[Sunan Ibn Majah 925 | Sahih Zubayr 'Ali Zai]

وعن معاذ رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أخذ بيده وقال‏:‏ ‏"‏يا معاذ والله إني لأحبك‏"‏ فقال‏:‏ ‏"‏أوصيك يا معاذ لا تدعن في دبر كل صلاة تقول‏:‏ اللهم أعني على ذكرك، وشكرك، وحسن عبادتك‏"‌‏.‏ رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح‏.‏

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took hold of my hand and said,

"O Mu'adh! By Allah I love you, so I advise you to never forget to recite after every prayer[salah]:

'Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika, wa shukrika, wa husni 'ibadatika' (O Allah, help me remember You, to be grateful to You, and to worship You in an excellent manner)."

[Sunan Abu Dawud | Sahih]

Making Do'a As A Jama'ah With The Imam Routinely And Believing That Is A Sunnah Is A Bid'ah [Innovation]:

ليس للإمام أن يدعو بعد الصلوات الخمس رافعًا للدعاء يديه، أو غير رافع يديه وهم يؤمنون ليس من المشروع

Imam Ibn Baz رحمه الله said:

"It is not permissible for the imam to supplicate after the five daily prayers, raising his hands to supplicate, or without raising his hands, while they believe It is not permissible to do so."

Shaykh 'Abdur-Razzaq Al-Badr حفظه الله said 💬

"Indeed the most significant of the great lessons which benefits the Muslim in his Hajj to the House of Allah the al-Haram is the obligation to have sincerity in all worship for Allah Alone Who has no partners, So when the Muslim begins his Hajj, the first thing that he begins with is the proclamation of Tawheed and rejection of Shirk (associating partners with Allah), when he says:

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ , لَبَّيْكَ لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ , إنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ ، لا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

labbaykallaahumma labbaika, labbaika laa shareeka laka labbaika-innal hamda wan ni’mata laka wal mulka-la shareeka laka

(Here I am O Allah, here I am, You have no partner, here I am, Verily all praise is for You, and every bounty is from You, and all dominion is Yours, You have no partner)

He repeats it and raises his voice with it whilst, at the same time, he is conscious of and feels what this proclamation indicates: the obligation to single out Allah Alone with worship and keeping far away from Shirk.

Since Allah is Alone in His favours and His giving, having no partners, then likewise He is Alone in His Tawheed not having any equal.

No one is supplicated to [du'a] except Allah, none is relied [tawakkal] upon except Allah, none is sought for aid [isti'anah/istigathah] except Allah nor is any type of the different aspects of worship ['ibadah] directed to anyone except Allah. Just as the slave is required to make his intention for the Hajj completely for Allah Alone, then in the same way he is required to make his intention in all the worship he performs and in all the acts of obedience by which he becomes closer to Allah, for Allah Alone.

Whosoever directs anything from worship to other than Allah then he has committed Shirk with Allah The Great, and he has suffered a clear loss, nullified his actions and Allah will not accept his actions from him, neither his optional actions nor his obligatory actions.

Indeed Islam came with this great proclamation, the proclamation of the Tawhid of Allah, making the Deen sincerely for Allah and distancing oneself from all types of Shirk, large or small, minor or major."

The Significance of The Day of ʿArafah

The Messenger of Allāh ‎ ‎ﷺ said:

“There is no day which Allāh sets frees more of his slaves from the Fire than the Day of ʿArafah.

Verily, he draws near, then He boasts about them before the angels, saying:

‘What do these people want?' ."

“Verily, the eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved,” said the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as he wept at his son’s passing, he then said:

“but we will not say anything except what is pleasing to our Lord [Rabb]...”

The trials which the Prophet ﷺ underwent teach us how to react when we ourselves are faced with difficulties. Whether you have experienced the loss of a loved one or have suffered in any way, his way of being ﷺ is your best guide.

The Prophet ﷺ himself lost a mother, wife, children, and grandchildren, and went through trials that no one else could have withstood. His response to the death of his son, quoted above, exemplifies how he was at all times, even when grieving. The Prophet’s course ﷺ was to return to Allah and ask for His help.

It has been related, in a Hadith narrated by Ibn as-Sunni, that the Prophet ﷺ once said:

“Anyone afflicted with worry or grief should supplicate with the following words:

للّهُـمَّ إِنِّي عَبْـدُكَ ابْنُ عَبْـدِكَ ابْنُ أَمَتِـكَ نَاصِيَتِي بِيَـدِكَ، مَاضٍ فِيَّ حُكْمُكَ، عَدْلٌ فِيَّ قَضَاؤكَ أَسْأَلُـكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّـيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ أِوْ أَنْزَلْتَـهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ، أَوْ عَلَّمْـتَهُ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِـكَ أَوِ اسْتَـأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الغَيْـبِ عِنْـدَكَ أَنْ تَجْـعَلَ القُرْآنَ رَبِيـعَ قَلْبِـي، وَنورَ صَـدْرِي

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘abduka, ibnu ‘abdika, ibnu ‘amatika, naasiyatee biyadika, maadhin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadhaa’uka, ‘as’aluka bikulli ismin huwa laka, sammayta bihi nafsaka, ‘aw ‘anzaltahu fee kitaabika, ‘aw ‘allamtahu ‘ahadan min khalqika, ‘awista’tharta bihi fee ‘ilmil-ghaybi ‘indaka, ‘an taj’alal-Qur’aana rabee’a qalbee, wa noora sadree, wa jalaa’a huznee, wa thahaaba hammee

O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand ( you have control over me). I am subject to Your decree, and Your decision upon me is justice itself. I ask You by every name that is Yours by which You have named Yourself, or which You revealed in Your Book,or which You have taught any one of Your creation, or which You have kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur’an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the removal of my sorrow and the departure of my worries."

📝 What Have You Done With Your Knowledge?

عن أنس قال، قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم:

From Anas [Ibn Mālik] he said, the Messenger of Allah [Muhammad] ﷺ said:

"تعلموا العلم واعملوا به وعلموه ولا تضعوه في غير أهله ولا تمنعوه عن أهله"

"Learn [islamic] knowledge and act upon it [implenting it to do good deeds] and teach it and don't give it to people [who don't deserve it] and don't prevent it from it's people [those who deserve it]"

[Shaykh Akram Ziyadeh حفظه الله said this hadīth is sahīh صحيح]

🤲🏼 Let's Revive The Sunnah: Authentic Do'a Before Eating Food & Drinking Milk Or Water 🍲

💬 Nabi Muhammad ﷺ said:

"إذا أكل أحدكم طعاماط فليقل : اللهُمَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ وإذا سقي لبنا فليقل اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ..."

"When one of you eats food, he should say:

اللهُمَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ

'Oh Allah, bless us in it, and give us food better than it'

and when he is given milk to drink he should say:

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ

'Oh Allah! bless us in it and give us more of it'"

💬 A Noble Sahabah, Zaid Ibn Arqam رضي الله عنه said:

كنا إذا سلم علينا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قلنا وعليك السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته ومغفرته

If we used to give the Prophet (ﷺ) the greetings of peace he used to say:

وعليك السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته ومغفرته

Wa'alaykas-salām warahmatullāhi wabarakātuhu wamaghfiratuhu

May peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings and His forgiveness

Shaikh al-Albani graded it jayyid in Silsilatus-Saheeha (no. 1449)

Also Shaikh Saleem ibn ‘Eid al-Hilali rahimahullah graded it Hasan in his explanation of Riyaad as-Saliheen [See: Bahjatun-Nadhireen (2/132)]
